报告摘要:

The kinematic description of finite elastoplasticity based on the decomposition F =FeFp is standard in the continuum mechanics community. Besides its current acceptance, it has been largely debated in the literature and many issues still remain unresolved. In this talk we present some advances in this direction via mathematical multiscale analyses from discrete dislocations to the continuum scale.

 

报告人简介: 

Celia Reina is the William K. Gemmill Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics at UPenn. She joined in 2013 after doing a PhD at Caltech in 2010 and a postdoc at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and the Hausdorff Center for Mathematics in Bonn. Her research interests lie in the multiscale modeling and simulation of materials combining tools from continuum mechanics, statistical physics and applied mathematics. Examples of her research include fundamentals of non-equilibrium thermodynamics, understanding of fast phase transformations for applications to new memory devices, and developing multiscale tools for wave propagation in exotic heterogeneous media.
