报告摘要：

Elsevier publishes some of the top mechanics journals including JMPS, IJSS and are keen on understanding and meeting publishing needs of mechanicians. The talk will share facts of Elsevier’s mechanics journals including their new adventure: Extreme Mechanics Letters, and introduce new initiatives these journals are experimenting to better serve the research community. Another important topic to be included in the talk is to clarify on the editorial process and answer questions and address concerns authors sometimes have on how a journal is run and their rights and responsibilities as an author.

报告人简介：

Laney currently works at Elsevier as Executive Publisher responsible for a list of journals in mechanical engineering. Among the list are Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids, International Journal of Solids and Structures, Extreme Mechanics Letters in the field of mechanics research.

Before this role she was Head of content development in Elsevier’s Beijing office, followed by a management associate opportunity in the headquarters of Elsevier in Amsterdam. She’s currently based in Elsevier’s Oxford office.

Her experience before Elsevier includes in-house Editor of an English medical journal and Manager of a copy-editing team.

Laney holds a Master’s Degree in public health from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
