报告摘要:

Bubble dynamics is a classical problem about 100 years old. Traditional researches on this topic have been associated with cavitation erosion. The recent researches are associated with medical applications, sonochemistry and ultrasonic cleaning.

We have developed weakly compressible theory and a grid-free numerical model for this phenomenon, modelled both the first- and subsequent-cycles of oscillation, and showed that the energy of a transient bubble follows a step function in time, being nearly conserved for most of each cycle of oscillation but decreasing rapidly and significantly at bubble inception and at the end of collapse, due to the emission of shock waves.

                                                                                                        

报告人简介:

Dr. Qianxi Wang is an academic staff from the School of Mathematics,the University of Birmingham. He holds BSc, MEng and PhD from the University of Science and Technology of China. He had worked in the University of Science and Technology of China, National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University and the Defence Science Organization of Singapore. His research fields include bubble dynamics, free surface wave/body interaction, perturbation methods and boundary integral method.
